WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE?
With our extensive experience in pet ownership, over 30 years combined (between my husband and I), we have created the ideal, custom environment for your cat to feel at home. Little Lion House is well-maintained and equipped with all the necessary amenities and safety features. We carefully monitor the cats in our care and believe that each cat has their own unique personality. We make sure to give each cat the attention and care they need to be happy and content during their stay with us.
DO YOU CHANGE THE LITTER EVERY DAY?
Absolutely, twice a day, if not more!
DO YOU OFFER GROOMING?
Sorry! We do not offer grooming services at our facility at this time.
IF MY CAT NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET, WILL YOU TAKE THEM?
Absolutely! We are lucky to live in an area with such wonderful people to care for our ill and injured animals.
Granted, if the situation is an emergency, I will drive your little one to the nearest 24/7 animal hospital.
If the issue is less serious, I will contact your cat's doctor and get them in as soon as possible.
With your permission, we will seek medical care outside of their normal doctor if there is no availability to be seen within a reasonable amount of time.
We are also in process of getting certified in Feline CPR & First Aid.
DO YOU ALLOW THE CATS TO FREE FEED ALL DAY?
In short, no. Many cat boarding facilities do allow their cats to "free feed" all day, which allows access for all the cats to eat different foods AND overeat.
Given the experience we have had with our own cats, who have sensitive stomachs, we feel it is the cat's best interest to eat at proper mealtimes, in the privacy of their condo. This keeps the cats away from other one another; creates less tension and allows for better digestion for all.
If your cat is typically a grazer - no problem - we will offer them food at mealtimes and if they decide they are not ready to eat at that time, we simply keep their food out of reach during socialization. Once playtime is over, they will be reintroduced to their meal. Simple as that!
DO YOU HAVE VIDEO/SECURITY CAMERAS?
YES! Our cameras serve as a security system overnight and while we are away; door and window sensors are armed.
We do not offer a live-camera feeds at this time; however, we can send daily pictures and updates on your little ones at your request.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU VISIT THE CATS?
According to PetMD.com, cats only need three-four, 10-minute sessions of active play per day...BUT, we LOVE being with cats, so rest assured, your cats will have a lot of 1:1 with both humans and other cats, plus an array of sensory toys! You can expect your cats to socialize with humans and one another for many hours throughout the day. While we do encourage engagement and playtime amongst each other, we will always listen to our furry friends and follow their lead. If they want to rest, we will let them! If they are ready to play, we are here for it. If they don't enjoy the company of the other cats, we will allow them to have private play experiences.
DO YOU EVER LEAVE THE PROPERTY?
In short, yes. Like all pet owners, we set our cats up for success while we are away from home, and never for more than a few hours at a time. Our 24/7 camera access allows us to check on the cats from anywhere, at any time!
In the case of an emergency, where we must leave the house for an extended period of time, we have family & friends in the area who are committed to lending a helping hand. Even in the most worst-case scenarios, we have a Plan A, B, and C.
Your cats (like our family) are our top priority - always!
DO YOU CARE FOR SENIOR OR CATS WHO REQUIRE MEDICATION?
Yes, we are happy to care for senior cats and cats that require daily medical care.
Administering medication is an add-on service, please remember to mention this with your reservation request.
Please note, we are unable to care for cats that require diapers at this time.
